Allie Pauson’s route to becoming a runner isn’t really a typical one. “In 2017, I tore my ACL playing soccer and needed to have ACL reconstruction surgery. My physical therapist suggested couch to 5k to help with my recovery and I’ve been running ever since.”
Allie’s first Casey Cares 5K was last year. She’s since moved out of state, but is hoping to join us while she’s visiting home in August. “ I chose to participate in the Casey Cares 5k last year because it was a fun way to support an amazing cause and give back to my community.”
We’re so thankful for runners like Allie, who help us provide for critically ill children and their families. Casey Cares has never had to turn away an eligible child, and with support from the community, we hope we never will.
Allie says the best part of running is it allows her to clear her head and always leaves her in a better mood. Join us for this year’s 5K – you can clear your head and help out a great cause at the same time – and there’s no better mood booster than that!
