“I give back to all that supported us while Megan was getting chemo and past treatment.” That’s the reason, plain and simple, why Stacey Arthur runs the Casey Cares 5k. Her daughter, Megan, was in our program for three years for an inoperable brain tumor. Megan is now stable and doing well!
Last year Stacey ran the 5k, “It was my first 5k, I was so proud of myself because I never thought I could do a run!” This year she’s doing the one-mile family walk.
All of the money raised through events like the 5K go to support Casey Cares programs for critically ill children and their families. Because of the support we get, we have never had to turn away an eligible child. It’s something that we are very proud of at Casey Cares because it’s so important to families like Stacey’s to be there when they need us. Now in return, the Arthur family often donates their Ravens tickets to other families who need a break. We have the best large Casey Cares family!
If you ask her why she decided to participate in the 5K again this year, Stacey says, “to give back and support Casey Cares”. Again, plain and simple. Stay well Megan!
