"Every Runner Has A Reason" and Kimberly, who has now taken up running for more than 2 decades, began for her son.
"After my son was born in the spring of 2012, I knew I needed to work on my physical and mental health. I also needed some time to myself! I started running to give myself that gift," she states.
This "gift" is also the best part of running for Kimberly because it reminds her "that I am worthy. I pray, reflect, and listen to happy music. I find solutions to problems— or find that I can let some problems go."
She also loves finishing races because she has "yet to finish a run or race with regret. I always finish with gratitude and a renewed hope for the day ahead."
The mother and attorney cannot run without a solid playlist too!
"Indigo Girls, upbeat hits, Christian praise songs, you name it! I find joy in music and tailor my playlist to my needs on a given day."
Kimberly has been a runner in our 5K for several years!
Not only is "the cause is inspiring," she expresses, but Kimberly has also seen the direct impact of Casey Cares on a child.
"A child from my church benefited from Casey Cares and the family often promotes it," she states.
Kimberly also gives a sweet shoutout to Casey Cares Special Events Program Director, Jamie Snyder, who creates and plans Casey Cares major fundraisers, including the 5K/1-Mile Walk.
She says, "The race is well run — meaning it is planned and executed very well. It is one of my favorites!"
You and your team can join Casey Cares - an inspiring cause - for our 14th Annual 5K/1-Mile Walk on August 5th to benefit fun-filled activities for our critically ill children. Register yourself or your team today!
